Taking your bikes on a road trip? We rent a 2-bike hitch carrier that fits a 2-inch receiver.

Before you ride

  • Dirt trails close after heavy rain. Riding them wet causes lasting damage, so call ahead or check the trail's page first.
  • Georgia State Parks charge a ParkPass fee per vehicle. An annual pass pays for itself quickly if you ride Hard Labor Creek, Fort Yargo, or Watson Mill often.
  • E-bikes are not allowed on non-motorized trails in the national forest, including Bull and Jake Mountain, the Pinhoti, and the Aska trails. Check each trail's page before you bring one.
  • Bring more water than you think you need from May through September. Several trailheads have no water or restrooms.
  • Carry a spare tube and a way to fix a flat. We can set you up at the shop if you need one.
  • Wear bright colors on trails in Wildlife Management Areas during hunting season.
  • Protect your eyes. Good sunglasses cut glare on open rail-trails and keep dust, bugs, and branches out of your eyes on singletrack.
