About the ride
Walter B. Williams Jr. Park is Milledgeville's big city park, with ball fields, tennis and pickleball courts, and a pond. Local volunteers built a mountain bike trail through the woods between the tennis courts and the soccer and track complex, and the Georgia Cycling Association now uses it for its youth mountain bike race series.
The loop runs about 5 miles through the woods, with mostly beginner-friendly trail and a few short climbs. The park also has paved paths, so it works for a family where not everyone wants to ride dirt.
Bartram Forest is also in Milledgeville, so you can ride both in one trip.
