About the ride
Bull and Jake Mountain are two connected trail systems in the national forest about 10 minutes from downtown Dahlonega. Together they're one of the best-known mountain bike destinations in north Georgia.
The Jake side is a little friendlier, with forest roads that make easy bail-out routes. The Bull side is the big one: a long climb rewarded by a long descent. A full loop of both can top 25 miles and thousands of feet of climbing.
The trails are shared with hikers and horses, so ride with care and yield on blind corners.

Bull Mountain Trailhead is about 2.5 miles farther, down Forest Service Road 28-1.
Good to know
- E-bikes are not allowed on non-motorized trails in the national forest.
- No restrooms or water at the trailheads.
- Trails are shared with horses and hikers.
- Cell service is spotty. Download a map before you go.
