About the ride
Chicopee Woods has been a Georgia mountain bike staple since the 1990s. The trails are bike-only, well maintained by the local SORBA chapter, and set in pine and hardwood forest next to the Elachee Nature Science Center.
Start on Tortoise and Hare to warm up. The intermediate loops, White Tail, Red Tail, and Flying Squirrel, add up to about 14 miles of flowing singletrack with some switchbacks and creek crossings. Copperhead Gap is the technical one for advanced riders.
The layout can be confusing on a first visit, so grab a photo of the trail map at the kiosk before you head out.
