About the ride
Heritage Park is a 364-acre Oconee County park on US 441, about 10 miles north of Madison. It sits along the Apalachee River, with woods, creeks, and separate trails for bikes and horses.
The bike trails add up to about 9.7 miles. Riders describe it as old school singletrack: tight and twisty, with roots, rocks, punchy climbs and fast downhills. There are easier ways to shorten the loop, but this one is better suited to riders with some trail experience than to first-timers.
Signs are minimal in spots, so download a trail map before you go or ride with someone who knows it.

Good to know
- Bikes and horses have separate trails, with a short shared section. On shared trail, bikes yield to horses and hikers.
- Signs are sparse. Bring a map or use a trail app.
- Skip it after heavy rain, since roots and clay get slick.
- The park hosts livestock and horse events, so the lot can be busy on event days.
