About the ride
The Ocmulgee Heritage Trail follows both banks of the Ocmulgee River through Macon, linking Amerson River Park, downtown, historic Riverside and Rose Hill cemeteries, and Carolyn Crayton Park.
The best part for many riders is the connection into Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park, where you can ride past mounds and an earth lodge that are more than a thousand years old. Most of the trail is concrete, with some natural-surface stretches.
A few sections are joined by sidewalks where riders need to walk their bikes.
