About paddling here
Parks Ferry is the smallest and quietest of the three Georgia Power parks on Lake Oconee. It has a boat ramp, a swimming beach, a playground, and a picnic pavilion.
It has a shorter season than Old Salem and Lawrence Shoals, so check that it's open before you go. When it is, it's a relaxed place to launch and explore the shoreline.
Launch at the ramp and stay clear of the swimming area.

Good to know
- Open May through November. Check before you go early or late in the season.
- Stay out of the marked swimming area.
- Mornings and weekdays are the calmest times to paddle.
- Bring water. There's not much shade on the water in summer.
